Developing traditional roles as well as reducing manual intervention in business procedures is therefore on the agenda as machinery takes on the coming decade’s generation shift. A significant number of your future employees are probably in the segments of data, AI, and programming. And for those who are not, digital tools will still play a large role in their performance. More and more companies are testifying about an upcoming question during the first interviews with potential employees, which is “what tools do you offer as support in the daily work?”.

Utilize the potential of the digital generation

In an economy where the Eurostat unemployment rate is as low as around 7% (even down to 3% in the Netherlands), companies that wish to scale their business through an extended workforce sit in a position that requires them to adapt to the employees’ expectations. And why shouldn’t we? The freshly baked talents come with a new perspective on how to bring value to the table. Having their competence wasted on repetitive tasks is a loose-loose situation. Simply put: You need to start building an environment where both they and your company can fully utilize their potential. If you don’t, your competitors will not only steal your top candidates, but also at some point your customers. Further, as we can expect the new generation to move between employers more regularly, companied need to have a plan on how to effectively nurture data and transit knowledge between individuals.

IT offers stability and ensures quality over time

The support system that a good IT environment provides can in some cases be compared to that of a stable HR department, a guiding manager, and a culture of good internal communication. Now, all aspects are important, but it is becoming more and more clear that to deliver results in the increasingly complex industry, you need more than good coffee and someone senior who tells you “how they use to do it”.  Support and stability in terms of digital solutions is hard currency in the third millennium.
